The Housing Compliance
Team
The Housing Compliance Team is
responsible for enforcing compliance with the tenancy terms and
conditions and lease clauses for all Newham Council leaseholders
and tenants.
Where breaches of the lease or tenancy are found, the team will
engage with the tenant or lessee to ensure that the breach is
corrected and will if necessary issue fixed penalty notices, seek
injunction and possession orders to resolve breaches.
The team is responsible for ensuring that tenants who have domestic
pets or lodgers staying with them have sought and been given
permission to do so. All tenants requests to keep domestic pets and
lodgers will be considered and responded to by the team.
The team will oversee the special schemes in operation for
decorating and gardening for elders and the disabled.
They will also continue to be responsible for tenancy and leasehold
management procedure issues.
