Leasehold Services

The Leasehold Services Unit provides services to people who lease their homes from Newham Council.

This includes:

• Council tenants' applications to buy their properties, under the Government's Right To Buy scheme.
• The production of Council leaseholders' service charge accounts
• Maintenance of leaseholders' records.
• The Home Ownership and Leasehold Services Unit provides services to people who lease their homes from Newham Council

Our Home Ownership and Leasehold Management team is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of service charges and leaseholder records. We fully consult with leaseholders, in line with legislation and lease conditions, about any impending works that may result in a charge.

In 2009 we wrote to all leaseholders to find out if you are interested in being consulted on the services we provide. We asked what areas of the service you wanted to be consulted on and how you wanted to be consulted. This is because we want your input, as this enables us to improve the services we provide.

As a result of the responses we received, we organised focus groups and invited the leaseholders who had said they wanted to be consulted on these areas in this way.
